Oh for fuck's sake
By way of
belledame222: WHY.
No doubt this will be spun as further evidence that everyone who worked or voted for Obama is a raging misogynist (and where is that marvellous ape?), but ugh. If this guy stays on in the Obama administration it had better be on the orders of Hillary Clinton herself, because otherwise...
You'd think that someone who writes speeches for a living would know a little bit more about the importance of image management -- as in, not doing things that make you look like a poisonous frat boy asshole (even if you are one).
As for this, no, I actually do not think that replacing Hillary Clinton's face with Michelle Obama's on the cut-out would dramatically change a lot of people's reactions. Perhaps some people who hate Hillary Clinton would change their tune, but so would some people who hate Michelle Obama (including a lot of PUMAs, I'd expect -- you know, the ones who called Michelle Obama a witch and a Stepford wife and talked about how mean and angry and ugly she is? Those ones).
But there's a significant population of people (mostly but not exclusively men) who simply refuse to understand that women really do find sexual harassment offensive, and who therefore responded to this picture as I might have responded if the men in the photo had been pretending to shake the Clinton cutout's hand or doing the "bunny ears" gesture behind its head.

and no ffs I don't think there would've been more outrage if it'd been MO. but it is nice to see that they've moved on from their hypothetical black man-->white woman to black woman-->white woman in the "who gets it worse" contests.
(And yes, it's being spun to prove that everyone who worked and voted for Obama is a raging misogynist.)
I get the feeling a lot of PUMAs were just sleepwalking until this year. "Liberal men can be sexist? OMG! This is totally shocking and also the worst thing that ever happened!"
